About Michel Haddi

French photographer and film director Michel Haddi’s career spans over 30 years, having started back in the 70s. His work is renowned all over the world and is considered to be intense, challenging, poetic and with a mix of humour. Born in Paris, his interest in photography starts with a Helmut Newton shot on the cover of Vogue; after moving to London, he works as an assistant to the photographer Ben Lee where he is able to learn the technical side of the business. After only two years, his photograph of the model of the moment Gail Elliot is published in the Daily Mail.

His photography appears in many publications including Italian Vogue, Tatler, French Vogue, Elle, GQ, British Vogue and The Washington Post.  He shoots advertising campaigns for names like Armani, Rochas, Yves Saint-Laurent, Emilio Pucci, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales, and celebrities such as David Bowie, Angelina Jolie, Kate Moss, Clint Eastwood and Johnny Depp.  He later creates a publishing house, MHS, which publishes his own books: Made in USA, Paris: Dream on Baby, JP Gaultier Happy Birthday and Milano Centrale among others. 

Michel’s work, internationally recognised, has been the subject of several exhibitions: the group show in Tokyo and Kobe in 1986 for The Face Magazine, the Fashion Photo Festival in New York City in tribute to Yves Saint Laurent, the International Fashion Award Paris in 1995, the Art Paris 2012 “Young Gallery” with the iconic image of Kate Moss; the Iconic and Bionic in 2012 in Dubai under the aegis of Princess Al Sabah, which makes him known throughout the Arab world.

With a passion for movies, in 1985 he produces a film-portrait of boxer Stéphane Ferrara, then in 1994, a film AKA (also known as) on International Velvet, a super star of Andy Warhol. Finally, in 2013, he shoots “Roma”, a film about 3 boxers in this city. Other projects include: Nature for Vanity Fair; Journey to Morocco for Macy’s; GQ Style aka; Lucy Gordon for Vanity Fair.

Today, he continues to impress with special projects, such as The Young & The Beautiful for Immortal.
